1. Resistance thermometers vs. thermocouples
|
In industrial applications, usually two different types of electrical thermometers are used - resistance thermometers and thermocouples. But what exactly is a thermocouple and how does it work? How is it different from a resistance thermometer and what different types are there?
You'd like the answers to these questions? Take a look at our latest know-how videos. Here we explain the features and differences of these two electrical thermometers.

2. Flexible pressure sensor with IO-Link
|
The new, easily configurable and flexible A-1200 pressure sensor with IO-Link is used for pressure monitoring or as a PNP/NPN switch, especially in intelligent machines. It features a 360° LED display and a controllable flashing function, which enables its location to be clearly identified.
The A-1200 pressure sensor is available in many different versions, making it ideally suited for measuring tasks in harsh environments.

3. OEM float switches in miniature design
|
WIKA has launched two new miniature float switches: RLS-7000 and RLS-8000. Both float switches are particularly suitable for point level monitoring in small tanks and, thanks to the robust and chemically resistant plastics used, are designed for a long service life.
Alongside the standard version, design-in solutions are also possible. In this case, the float switches can be adapted exactly to the respective application via individualised designs, tank connections and electrical connections.

4. New monoflange design available now
|
The new IVM monoflange, in its compact design, is particularly suitable for applications with critical liquids, gases and vapours. Through selected seals, fugitive emissions in accordance with TA-Luft (VDI 2440) and ISO 15848-1 are also prevented. Furthermore, the IVM has the advantage that it can be mounted directly to the process without additional first isolation since, in a version with OS&Y bonnet, it has been tested for fire safety in accordance with API 607 and ISO 10497/BS 6755-2.
For the combination of the monoflange with a pressure measuring instrument, we offer professional assembly. You receive an application-specific, complete solution (“hook-up”), ready for installation and leak-tested.

5. CPH7000 portable process calibrator in Ex version
|
The CPH7000 portable process calibrator is now also available in an intrinsically safe version. The multi-function instrument combines the measurement of pressure, temperature, current, voltage and ambient conditions.
Thus, the CPH7000 is suitable for testing and calibrating analogue pressure measuring instruments and also pressure and process transmitters, even within hazardous areas.

6. Measurement technology for the iron and steel industry
|
Steel is one of the most important materials for a wide range of industries. Due to the harsh process conditions, steel production processes require robust measurement technology that is capable of detecting faults reliably while keeping the cost-effectiveness of the process in view.
WIKA supports you with a wide range of products for primary metallurgy that enable flexible operation and complete process monitoring.
Our new brochure and the corresponding web page will help you to find the right products for your application.

7. Force measurement in resistance welding
|
If static and dynamic measurements must be made in the direct force flow in welding processes in order, for example, to protect actuators against overload, tension/compression force transducers are particularly well suited. Using the swivel-head force transducers, tension and compression forces are determined and monitored for X-pliers.
For this we offer the appropriate model F2303 force transducers with measuring ranges from 0 ... 10 kN to 0 ... 45 kN.

8. Thermometer calibration – an overview
|
The calibration of measuring instruments is both important and necessary. Whether in connection with the gas and water consumption in the home or with fuel meters on service station fuel pumps – calibration is essential in order to confirm the confidence in the measured value or to determine changes in good time. Read our new blog post to find out more about the calibration of thermometers.
